Video

Neymar is a 22 year old Brazilian soccer player, who since 2013 became part of FC Barcelona’s club playing #11 in forward position in the field. For a 5-year deal that will allow Neymar to earn 7 million euros per year the Spanish club paid for the Brazilian star 50 million euros, plus a 1 million euros bonus if he would of won the FIFA Balon d’Or 2014 (Balon de Oro 2014), an award which his current teammate Lionel Messi has won for the past 4 straight years but Neymar unfortunately didn’t win it. The Balon de Oro 2013-2014 award was won by Cristiano Ronaldo for the first time. Throughout the season 2013-2014 he showed off some great skills, tricks and goals as shown in this video. Recently Neymar just successfully accomplished his 1st season with the European team FC Barcelona and yet 4 more to come.

Edgar Lopez a famous sports entertainer is currently a charismatic and eloquent host of Telemundo’s show called “Titulares Y Mas” which is about discussing everything that is related to sports. Lopez was an outstanding athlete in sports like basketball, football, and track and field. For two years Lopez won the Ohio Athlete Conference and he also broke a record with the javelin and due to this he was able to compete in the Olympic Games of 1984. His way of understating sports has helped him in multiplicity of handling different types of sports like: horse racing, wrestling, track and field, golf, NCAA college sports, swimming, car racing, Olympic and International games. Leo Messi is a soccer player from Argentina, widely known as one of the greatest soccer players that plays for FC Barcelona and the Argentinian national team. Messi has won four times the FIFA world player of the year. His first appearance was in 2004-2005 season and became the youngest player to re a league goal. In 2006, Messi joined in the World Cup, becoming Argentina’s youngest player to play in the World. Cup Messi scored 47 goals in all competitions in 2009-2010. Overall, Messi is generally known as one of the stirring of the modern age and in any age. Edgar Lopez and Leo Messi are different in the aspect that Lopez don’t practice any sport now, he’s now a host for a TV show that talks about sports in general, while Messi still is practicing and he is way more known than Lopez was or is known. I think that Lopez would see the theme of my blog differently because I only specifically talk about the team FC Barcelona, while he talks about sports in general. My guess that Messi would see the theme of my blog in a different way is because the blog posts come from a person that doesn’t practice soccer which he has a different perspective towards soccer because he actually plays soccer.

FC Barcelona- Empirical Research Opportunity

Standard

untitled1

If I had the opportunity to do an empirical research of the soccer team FC Barcelona, my research question would be “What is the causing them to be defeated by their opponent constantly?” What I would do to answer this question is to watch specific news about the topic from the media or newspaper, look at the interviews with the players about what’s happening to the team and I would also conduct a survey asking fanatics of the team about what they thinking is causing them to lose their games. My hypothesis would be that they aren’t focusing in the field well enough as how they use to before. And based on the results I collect from the survey I would do a bar graph representing from the most picked answer to the least picked answer and compare these results to what I found out from my own research that I have done through the newspaper, interviews and other research papers. And from this comparison I would determine what is causing FC Barcelona to lose their games frequently. This is how my empirical research would look like if I had the chance to do it in the Barcelona team.

“REAL MADRID – BARCELONA: BUSINESS STRATEGY V. SPORTS STRATEGY, 2000-2006” is an empirical research paper done by Kimio Kase, Sandalio Gomez, Igncio Urrutia, Magdalena Opazo and Carlos Marti from IESE Business School – University of Navarra. This research bases of about the two biggest European football club rivals of now a days, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, but more specifically about their strategies, financial and sporting performance over periods of time that the five authors chose. The authors talk about the strategies that Barcelona and Real Madrid adopted to be able to succeed financially in a short time and they illustrate data tables to prove what they’re trying to point out and so these data tables show reliability to the reader. In the conclusion of this empirical research paper, the authors state that it does not matter if the club of each team haves a balanced financial, it all basically depends of how the team plays in the field to be successful. Overall I believe this research is reliable and it is credible because of the fact that the authors provided data tables as an answer for each question that they asked in the abstract and providing support to each of their answers.

Gerardo Martino stepping down with only coaching the team for a year

Martino said “I deeply regret not having achieved the goals that this club has always been set and achieved.” Gerardo Martino gave all he could within a year of coaching the Barcelona although it wasn’t enough to make the team achieve their goals of every season being said that Barcelona finished the 2013-14 season without a major trophy for the first time since 2007-08.

Villarreal CF v FC Barcelona - La Liga

It was an emotional afternoon on Saturday at the game of Barcelona v Getafe. Right before the beginning of the game a video was shown and a moment of silence was done in memory of Tito Vilanova death. Barcelona wanted to win this game in honor to Vilanova but unfortunately they weren’t able to achieve their goal ending with the final results of 2-2.

FC Barcelona with Real Madrid Rivalry and Cinderella with the Stepsisters Rivalry

In the 1st movie of Cinderella, as we all may know and have watched before, the stepsisters and the stepmother of Cinderella has something against Cinderella. We can tell that the stepsisters have a rivalry against Cinderella and also the stepmother doesn’t like her because Cinderella is way more prettier than her daughter. Ever since Cinderella’s father died, Anastasia, Drizella and Lady Tremaine started treating her like a maid and even worst than how a maid would usually get treated. So we can basically say that the stepsisters, Anastasia and Drizella, and the stepmother, Lady Tremaine, were jealous of Cinderella’s beautiful self. Although in the 2nd movie “Cinderella II: Dreams Come True” one of Cinderella’s stepsisters, Anastasia overcomes the rivalry that she had against Cinderella because she falls in love with the “Baker” and of course her mother doesn’t approves their relationship and Cinderella helps Anastasia to follow her true love regardless of what her mother thinks or wants. Although  this rivalry relates to the relation between FC Barcelona with Real Madrid and yes they’re rivals, Big Time! but the majority of this rivalry is due to the fanatics of each team. Their rivalry should only be during the games not before or after the game because at the end of the day we’re all humans and we are all the same, not one is better than any other. I’ve seen that after some games with FC Barcelona vs. Real Madrid, Leo Messi usually shakes hands with some of Real Madrid’s players, even with Christiano Ronaldo, which is Messi’s Big Time rival because of the fanatics that fight for which player is better. The rivalry that exists in Cinderella with her stepsisters and her stepmother is similar to the rivalry between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid that by sometime in the end they all get along and get over all the hate and rivalry but not necessarily to end up being best friends but at least not much hate in between and not all the time, of course.

Final Copa del Rey El Clasico 2014 Barcelona vs Real Madrid

The Spanish Cup 2014 (Copa del Rey) slips away from Barcelona and goes to Real Madrid after Di María at the start and Bale at the end of the match scored, which tipped the balance in their favor leaving with the final scores 1-2. From this season the only major title Barcelona can still win is the domestic league, although they are still the “kings of cups” with their 26 titles that they have won.

Barcelona shows once again how hard they work as a team and what team is more united than any other team on their win in their recent game against Real Madrid, the score was 4-3. The player  Messi, so far has scored in total of 20 goals against Atletico Madrid. Although there are people always that going to hate whether if it’s something good or bad.

Social Policing Lionel Messi

This meme of Lionel Messi is in Spanish but in English means “Don’t know if to ask him for an autograph or ask him to take my luggage to my room” which is an exact example of Michel Foucault’s idea of “Social Policing.”Messi is being criticized by the society of how he went dressed to the “Balon de Oro de la FIFA 2014” event by comparing him to a bellhop, since bellhop’s uniforms are usually black or red. I believe society is judging him because regularly the soccer players attend to this event dressed with their black and white suit but Messi usually stands out by dressing different from the rest. And this not the only meme that has been made of him, there’s many more comparing him to other people.
